Wallenium uses high-quality modular partition systems and doors to create custom-made spaces and focus rooms in any dimensions so they’re nested comfortably within your office, retail space, or public space.
3D Focus Room Configurator: Wallenium
An interactive web-based 3D configurator that allows Wallenium's sales teams and clients to design custom-made focus rooms in real time — adjusting dimensions, doors, wall finishes, interior materials, and extras — and instantly generate a detailed order PDF with multi-angle 3D snapshots.

Client brief
The Challenge: No Way to Visualize a Fully Custom Focus Room Before Committing
Wallenium manufactures high-quality modular partition systems and doors for custom focus rooms — flexible office spaces designed to exact client specifications. Every project involves dozens of decisions: room dimensions, exterior finishes, door types and positions, glazing options, interior materials, hardware finishes, and extras.
Before the configurator, Wallenium relied on an Odoo-based tool to manage these specifications. While functional for sales engineers, the system was purely form-driven — a series of dropdowns and text fields with no visual representation of the configured room.
This created a critical gap in the sales process:
- Clients couldn’t see what they were buying. Choosing between 30+ exterior finishes, textile colors, door hardware options, and layout configurations meant relying on separate sample images, physical swatches, and imagination.
- Sales engineers became bottlenecks. Every configuration required manual operation of the system, translating client wishes into Odoo selections, then compiling and sending quotes.
- Decision cycles stretched. Without a tangible preview, clients requested multiple revisions after initial quotes, slowing down deal velocity.
- No self-service path. The Odoo-based tool couldn’t be placed in front of clients or embedded into an independent exploration workflow.
For a product as visually driven as a custom interior room, the gap between abstract specification and tangible outcome was a real barrier to efficient sales.
The Solution: An Interactive 3D Configurator That Turns Product Catalogs Into Visual Design
The Focus Room Configurator powered by Materia CPQ gives clients a build your own room experience — a step-by-step guided interface with a live 3D preview that updates in real time as options are selected.
Core Workflow:
- Base Structure — Set room dimensions (width, depth, height) with instant 3D rendering
- Walls & Exterior — Choose from full material catalog with live texture application
- Door Configuration — Select up to 4 doors across different positions (front, back, left, right), each with:
- Type options (Wooden, Full Glass, Portal)
- Opening direction & hinge side
- Glazing configurations
- Handle type and finish
- Locking mechanisms
- Interior Finishes — Configure ceiling materials, flooring, and textile wall colors
- Optional Extras — Add ventilation, electrical outlets, custom details
- Review & Export — Inspect from all angles, capture multi-view snapshots, generate PDF quote
Key Technical Features:
- Real-Time 3D Visualization — Three.js with React Three Fiber renders the room with PBR materials, HDR environment lighting, and full orbit/pan/zoom controls
- Multi-Angle Snapshot System — Automatically captures top, front, back, left, right, and perspective views
- Automated PDF Generation — Compiles 3D snapshots with full specifications and component details into a downloadable multi-page quote
- Comprehensive Door Logic — Supports complex door configurations with position-aware constraints and hardware compatibility rules
- Odoo Integration — Connects to Wallenium’s existing ERP for pricing, inventory, and order handoff
The Results: From Email Chains to Self-Service — Fully Custom Room Design in Minutes
The configurator didn’t just speed up Wallenium’s sales process — it fundamentally changed how they sell.
Before: A client interested in a focus room would schedule a call with a sales engineer. Together, they’d discuss dimensions, finishes, door options, and extras — the engineer translating requests into Odoo form selections while the client tried to visualize the result. After the call, the engineer would compile a quote and email it. The client would review, request changes (different door position, different finish), and the cycle would repeat. Multiple rounds of back-and-forth before a single order.
Now: The sales team shares a configurator link. The client opens it, adjusts room dimensions in real-time, cycles through 30+ exterior finishes while watching the 3D preview update instantly, places doors in different positions to see which layout works best, and downloads a complete PDF quote with multi-angle snapshots — all without waiting for a sales engineer.
What Changed:
For Sales Teams:
Instead of spending hours translating client wishes into form inputs across multiple calls, the configurator handles the visual design step. Sales conversations now start with a configured room already in view — whether designed independently, collaboratively, or during the call itself — letting engineers focus on technical questions and closing rather than basic option selection.
For Clients:
The imagination gap is gone. Choosing between oak veneer and white laminate isn’t abstract anymore — they see the exact room finish in 3D. Deciding whether to place the door on the front or left wall isn’t a mental exercise — they click both options and compare. The result: faster decisions, fewer revisions, higher confidence.
For Operations:
Every configured room generates a specification-complete PDF automatically. Production receives multi-angle 3D snapshots alongside component lists — visual references that eliminate interpretation errors. Odoo integration keeps pricing and inventory synchronized without manual re-entry.
Technical Wins:
The step-by-step guided flow prevents incomplete specifications (no more forgot to specify door hardware errors). Real-time 3D preview enables immediate iteration — clients test layouts, finishes, and configurations on the spot instead of waiting for revised quotes. Complex multi-door scenarios that previously required custom engineering per quote now configure automatically through the interface.
