Wenture developed the SilencerIQ configurator for our client ETS NORD to help select ventilation silencers. In the next phase, we automated data exchange between SilencerIQ and MagiCAD, enabling engineers to choose silencers directly in MagiCAD.
ETS NORD is a leading manufacturer and developer of ventilation systems in the Nordic countries. ETS NORD approached Wenture with their range of noise silencers. These are configurable products with hundreds of variations, making it extremely time-consuming to select the right one without support tools.

Challenge
ETS NORD approached Wenture with a specific problem. Our client, ETS NORD, needed a solution that would connect two important systems: MagiCAD, which they use, and the SilencerIQ web application developed by Wenture. The main challenge was to create a smooth workflow that would allow engineers to select, configure, and calculate silencers directly within the MagiCAD environment.
Until now, importing data from SilencerIQ to MagiCAD had been a time-consuming and error-prone process, requiring constant manual data verification and slowing down work efficiency. Our task was to automate this process so that silencer selection and integration into MagiCAD projects could happen quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
Implementation
The solution developed by Wenture focused on three main components, which together create a complete and seamless workflow.
Stage I: SilencerIQ Web Application – a purpose-built tool for silencer selection
The first component we created was an intuitive silencer selection system. Upon entering the application, users see a clear overview of the two main silencer types: circular and rectangular. This simple but well-thought-out approach makes the initial selection quick and logical.
The second important component was automating the silencer configuration process. When users enter required parameters such as dimensions, noise level, and airflow, the system analyzes this data in real time. We developed an intelligent algorithm that automatically suggests the best possible silencer according to the entered criteria. The system validates all data immediately, preventing potential errors before they occur.
Stage II: Integration with MagiCAD Plugin – a popular BIM software for engineers
The third and perhaps most innovative component was the smooth integration with MagiCAD. This allows users to export selected silencers directly to the design software with a single click. The integration ensures that all technical parameters transfer precisely and automatically, eliminating the need for manual entry. Additionally, there is continuous data synchronization between the two systems, meaning that any changes are instantly reflected in both environments.
Summary
The solution developed by Wenture has significantly improved the workflow for ETS NORD’s clients and sales engineers. The automated system not only saves time but also enhances the overall quality of projects. This solution clearly demonstrates how well-designed software integration can significantly improve engineers’ daily work.
