R-Fix specializes in high-quality architectural glass fastening systems, including full-glass railings and facade solutions. Their catalog is massive, covering everything from simple interior design elements for homes to highly complex, large-scale engineering projects.
3D Glass Railing Configurator: R-Fix
Imagine taking a complex architectural glass railing design and turning it into a fully priced, error-free quote in a matter of minutes. That’s exactly what we built for R-Fix. By developing a web-based 3D railing configurator, we automated their entire Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) process. The system instantly applies engineering rules, pulls live pricing from their ERP, and generates ready-to-send sales documents—saving the team hundreds of hours a month.

Client brief
The Challenge: Trapped in a Manual Sales Cycle
The Core Problem: Quoting complex projects took far too long. R-Fix was stuck in a manual, repetitive sales cycle that drained their time and frustrated their team.
Before we stepped in, R-Fix managed their product configurations the hard way: through a messy mix of Excel spreadsheets, PDF templates, shared network folders, and endless email chains.
This created a few major roadblocks:
- Siloed Information: Sales reps and engineers built quotes and drawings from scratch for every single project using their own personal templates.
- Painful Updates: Because there was no centralized database, every time a price changed or a technical standard was updated, someone had to manually fix multiple documents.
- The Engineering Bottleneck: Sales couldn’t finalize a quote without an engineer checking the math and the build rules. Engineers spent hours double-checking basic configurations instead of doing actual design work, which slowed down customer response times and hurt the company’s ability to grow.
The Solution: A Frictionless CPQ Platform
Our Goal: Completely eliminate the friction between the customer, the sales team, and the engineering department.
Using our Materia CPQ platform, we implemented a web-based 3D railing configurator that bridges the gap between what the customer wants and what can actually be manufactured.
Here is how we did it:
- Guided, Error-Free Configuration: We built technical manufacturing rules directly into the software. The system simply won’t let a user build an invalid or unsafe product combination.
- Live ERPLY Pricing: We integrated the tool directly with ERPLY. As a user changes dimensions, materials, or hardware, the price updates automatically in real-time.
- Role-Based Access: We set up dedicated workspaces for partners, internal sales reps, and resellers, allowing everyone to save projects and manage their specific workflows.
- Automated Sales Documents: With one click, the system exports the final configuration into a structured, ready-to-send quote and order document.
Powered by the Materia CPQ Platform
Solution is powered by our Materia 3D Configurator to handle the real-time visual modeling. We connected the platform to ERPLY via API, customer data, pricing, and orders sync automatically. Approved configurations flow straight to the production floor with zero manual data entry.
The Results: Faster Quotes, Zero Bottlenecks
Today, R-Fix operates on a single, automated platform that handles 3D visualization, pricing, and document generation all in one place.
The real-world impact has been massive:
- 60% faster quoting: Sales reps can now respond to customer inquiries in a fraction of the time.
- 80% less manual data entry: Human errors in pricing and technical specs have been virtually eliminated.
- Engineers got their time back: The technical team no longer has to validate routine quotes and can finally focus on complex, high-value projects.
- Higher adoption rates: Partners and remote sales teams are actively using the self-service tool to close deals faster.
The Human Impact
The best part of this project was the organizational shift. Sales teams now have the confidence to build accurate proposals entirely on their own. By removing the dependency on just a few technical specialists, R-Fix has created a much more collaborative and scalable work environment.
Future Plans
The work doesn’t stop here. R-Fix is already planning to bring more product lines into the configurator to centralize their entire portfolio. Moving forward, we will continue refining the user workflows and deepening the document automation to ensure the platform scales perfectly alongside their business.
